Netball Gala Day

With great excitement we made our way out to Jamison Park at Penrith on Tuesday 22 August, 2017 to spend a fun-filled day playing netball, umpiring, coaching and supporting our teams! We had eight teams take the court and once again our children played exceptionally well, representing St Bernadette’s in a positive manner. They displayed true sportsmanship by congratulating their opponents and thanking the umpires at the conclusion of each game.


Congratulations to all the Year 5 and Year 6 children on their outstanding CAPTIVATE performance on Monday night - 4 September. The children looked amazing and performed beautifully. It was a wonderful experience to be part of a combined choir of over 300 children as well as to perform in our small cluster group of 70 children.

Voice of Youth

On Friday 18th August Year 6 attended the Voice of Youth Cluster Final at St Monica’s North Parramatta. Sophia N, Nicholas C and Lucy B represented St Bernadette’s with their excellent engaging speeches

Stage 3 Boys represent St Bernadette's at Soccer Gala Day

On 25th July St Bernadette’s Primary had a number of boys from Years 5 and 6 represent our school at the annual Stage 3 Boys Soccer Gala Day held at Jamison Park Penrith.

A special visit from the police, firefighters and SES

​On 26 July, St Bernadette's Primary had a special visit from the police, firefighters and SES. ​During the visit the children heard about the work they do, the equipment they use and even had the opportunity to ask questions. We were very excited about this special visit and will now be using this as a stimulus for our writing. ​Another great day at school.​

Way of Mercy Celebration

On Wednesday 9th November, we united as a school community for our Way of Mercy celebration. It was a beautiful ceremony and the experience of veneration is one the children will always remember.

Voice of Youth

On Monday 29th August, Year 6 attended the Voice of Youth at St Monica’s North Parramatta.

Stage 3 Canberra Excursion

Last week, Stage 3 went on their overnight excursion to Canberra, staying overnight between 9-10 June. A great adventure was had by all and the children represented St Bernadette’s with pride at all times.

Manning Foundation Happy Helpers Program

Last year, the students of St Bernadette’s donated chips and lollies for the annual Manning Foundation Christmas party. This year we extend this opportunity to you once again. The annual Christmas party we have allows adults in need enjoy a celebration where they don’t need to worry about who will be paying and what will they be able to afford to eat.


The CAPTIVATE Choir Concert DVD is now available for purchase. This is the performance that Year 4 and Year 5 participated in. The cost is $7.00.

Diocesan Athletics Carnival

On Friday 25th August, St Bernadette’s took a record sized squad of 17 children to the Diocesan Athletics Carnival at Blacktown Olympic Park. Besides the impressive size of our team, we also recorded some very impressive results!

Happy Helpers - Manning Foundation

The Manning Foundation’s ‘Happy Helper’ program is up and running. The children will now be able to make small, regular contributions to our local charity, the Manning Foundation, in the form of grocery items.

Stations of the Cross

During Holy Week the children and teachers ‘journeyed in faith’, through reflective prayer of the Stations of the Cross. These reflections tell the story of Christ’s way to the Cross. On the first day back of Term 2, the 'journey in faith, concluded with the story of the Resurrection.
