The Manning Foundation Happy Helper’s food donation program will be taking place again this year.
The Manning Foundation Happy Helper’s Food Donation Program
Winter Food Appeal.
This program aims to give children the chance to support a charity in their local community. It also provides an opportunity for parents to talk to their children about people who are in need and how doing something little can make a difference in people’s lives.
This years’ program will be run as follows:
Children can bring in donations of canned spaghetti, canned baked beans and chunky soup from Monday 10 August to Friday 21 August. Food donations can be made on any day, any quantity, as much or as little as you like during this two week period.
Please choose tins of food that do not have dents and show no signs of rust.
Food is to be placed in a plastic bag with students’ name/s. This is to allow student/s name to be recorded to receive a small reward from the Manning Foundation later in the term. Siblings only need to donate one item for all siblings to receive their reward.
The labelled bag with food is to be placed in the plastic Manning Foundation container located in the breezeway near the office window.
This food donation program is optional; it is just an opportunity to participate in almsgiving for a local cause.
