St Bernadette's Primary is part of a system of schools in the Parramatta diocese run with the support of the Catholic Education Office, Parramatta. Catholic schools aim to keep their fees as low as possible and can provide flexible payment arrangements for families. Students who meet enrolment criteria will not be refused enrolment because of a families’ genuine inability to afford school fees.

Annual Diocesan Tuition Fees

Annual Diocesan Tuition Fees can be paid upfront at the start of the year or as three equal payments in Terms 1, 2 and 3. The fee is only charged for the first three (3) children currently enrolled in the diocese (in other words, there is no additional Diocesan Tuition Fee for the fourth child attending a systemic school in the diocese or other participating Catholic schools - see 'Sibling Discounts' below. Annual Diocesan Building Levy

The Diocesan Building Levy enables us, through our capital works program, to meet the demand for new schools and new classes in high growth areas, and to continue to maintain all schools to a high standard.

All families with one or more children in a Parramatta Diocesan school are required to pay the annual Diocese of Parramatta Diocesan Building Levy. 

The levy for 2017 is $756 per family, payable in three equal instalments of $252 payable in Terms 1, 2 and 3.

The money collected from the levy is paid into a fund from which building costs and loan repayments for these schools are paid. The levy is not tax deductible.

Annual Diocesan Education Fee Temporary Residents 

The Diocesan Education Fee Temporary Residents for 2017 is $1,869 per student, payable in three equal instalments of $623 in Terms 1, 2 and 3. The fee applies to new students on the following visa numbers: 173, 401, 402, 411, 415, 416, 417, 418, 419, 420, 421, 422, 423, 426, 427, 428, 442, 456, 457, 459, 462, 476, 485, 497, 580, 600, 601, 651, 675, 676, 679, 685, 884, 944, 956, 976 and 977 including where any of these are the preceding visas for families on bridging visas 010 to 090. Families charged this fee in 2013 will continue to be charged on a per family basis to the eldest student whilst the family has continuous current students.


School based Fees 2017

Resource fee
A fee of $126 per child is charged for the year. These fees supply all learning materials, exercise books, art materials, cardboard, paper, paste, folders, duplicating, photocopying, first aid equipment, Religious Education resources, reading resources, library books, equipment and many other assorted items.

Excursion Levy
A fee of $168 per child is charged for the year.

Administration fee
A fee of $96 per child is charged for the year.

Swimming Program
A fee of $120 per child is charged for the year.

Parent fund
A fee of $102 per family, applies for the year to the Parents and Friends Association. This account will be broken into three parts and given to the Parents and Friends to fund their projects – Term 1 Term 2 and Term 3.


Financial Hardship

From time to time most families find that the cost of living and bringing up their families stretches their income to the limit.  Any families who are experiencing difficulty meeting their school accounts are asked to contact the Principal early so that large amounts do not build up and become impossible to meet. Some parents take the option to pay a small amount each week.

The Bishop Manning Scholarship Fund provides full or part scholarships to assist families in financial need who desire a Catholic education for their children, but for whom the cost is out of reach.
