Educating for the future
The learning journey at St Bernadette's honours the developmental stages in a student’s life. Based on leading educational research and the best of today’s technologies, we prepare students for the future by teaching them how to think critically and creatively, how to communicate effectively and how to lead and work both independently and collaboratively.

Religious Education
As a Catholic school we also have a strong religious dimension that runs through all the KLAs and is also formally recognised as the KLA of Religious Education.
St Bernadette's students take part in formal Religious Education every day, based on the new Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese curriculum, Encountering Jesus. This curriculum invites all students to consider how the teachings of Jesus Christ can apply to their lives.
Religious Education
Every day at St Bernadette’s, our classrooms come alive with educational experiences that encourage curiosity, develop critical thinking, and deepen faith. We recognise the importance of creating a dynamic learning environment that provides opportunities to develop 21st century skills.
We acknowledge and celebrate the uniqueness of every child. We welcome children with diverse needs and offer specialist literacy and numeracy support so all students have a positive experience of school.
Central to our mission as a Catholic school is our desire to build a Christ-centred community, integrating faith and values into daily life.
As the building blocks for all learning, we have a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy throughout our learning and teaching programs.
Literacy
From K-6, students have dedicated class time to mastering all aspects of literacy. Our skilled teachers practise a wide variety of strategies that assist in the development of reading, writing, and speaking and listening skills
Our Reading Recovery program provides early intervention for students with literacy challenges. With individualised support from a specialist teacher, children can quickly become confident readers and writers.
Numeracy
Our new mathematics syllabus has a strong focus on teaching students how to work mathematically. From this foundation, they develop skills across algebra, measurement, geometry, and statistics.
Students with maths difficulties can receive specialist intervention through our Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) program.
